Ghost Stories

Ghost Stories: Kids and ghosts. When young Satsuki finds an old book of spells from her passed away mother, she gains the power to fight ghosts that are haunting her new school. With the help of her friends, and of a really wicked devil cat, she must protect everyone around her or be haunted for ever more.(taken from www.animenewsnetwork.com)

For those of you who haven't seen this anime I suggest you see it, but beware. what do you wish to do? Watch a simple "horror" anime or a laugh-your-pants-off-until-you-pee-yourself anime?
The original japanese story is a simple horror one. Young girl (Sasuki) moves to a new house, meets the spunky boy next door, on the first day of school they venture into the old abandon school house... Shall I keep going?....

Turns out that the school is hunted, an evil ghost (Amanujaku) freed from his spiritual sleep due to the new construction going over the forest and wants to kill the girl. She finds out that her dead mother used to be the principal and locked all the ghost into spiritual sleep and finds a book that tells her how to put the ghost into spiritual sleep.
She follows the instructions and seals Amanujaku… In her cat. She follows the instructions in the book to seal all the ghost that have been freed.

Sounds boring no? Well the guys at ADV Films though so too so when it got dubbed all hell broke loose causing a monumental wave of lolz, most of it being adult humor. The voice actors had the great liberty to bend the script to their will, knowing that if they stuck to the original the anime script it would not sell in the US (they keep the original story intact).

What is the product of the free will? Unique characters, funny moments and some good lolz.
We have Sasuki, her little retarded brother, Hajime the next door kid, Leo the Jewish nerd who alway follows Hajime and Momoko the ex-lesbian who was enlighten by Christianity.
We have references from Batman, pop culture icons such as Michael Jackson, and even the internet meme "All your base are belong to us"
Over all, I recommend you watch it with the English dubs I assure you will be laughing your ass off in every episode.

Pros: Uberly funny
Cons: cheap production, knock off music for example from Inuyasha, if it wasn't for the funny it's a no go.

Its a Watch
